The El Dorado Center Planning Subcommittee develops a strategic plan for EDC that is in alignment with the overall FLC strategic plan. The subcommittee works under the auspices of the FLC Institutional Effectiveness Committee and within existing area and departmental processes/structures.

Agendas and Minutes

Purpose

  1. To serve the Institutional Effectiveness committee (IE) by drafting an EDC Plan that aligns with the FLC Strategic Plan.
  2. To periodically review and, as needed, recommend to the Department Chairs and Vice President of Instruction changes to EDC course offerings to meet the educational needs of current and potential students.
  3. To periodically review and, as needed, recommend to the Department Chairs and Vice President of Instruction changes to EDC program offerings.
  4. To periodically review and, as needed, recommend to the Department Chairs and Vice President of Student Services changes to overall EDC support services.
  5. To periodically review the EDC Plan to ensure alignment with the FLC College Master Plan and Strategic Plan and to suggest revisions as needed.

Responsibilities

  1. To draft and then maintain an EDC Plan that:
    1. Is aligned with the FLC College Master Plan and Strategic Plan, including the college’s mission, vision, and objectives.
    2. Takes advantage of EDC’s unique setting and opportunities.
    3. Supports identified community educational, business and industry needs, and life-long learning needs as appropriate, including those of the community not currently served by the Center.
    4. Identifies budget needs and supports fiscal responsibility.
  2. To ensure planning input from all constituencies, in addition to those representatives on the subcommittee.
  3. To use available data sources to support planning directions.
