About the Migration

To replace Skype for Business, the District will be migrating to Microsoft Teams. Microsoft Teams is a collaboration solution built for hybrid work environments. It enables users and their colleagues to stay informed, organized, and connected through a single application. In addition to familiar features provided by Skype for Business, Teams offers several new benefits, including:

1. Improved calling and voicemail functionality
2. Enhanced chat features, such as rich expressions and threaded conversations
3. Seamless document sharing and collaboration
4. Increased stability, scalability, and redundancy

The migration from Skype to Teams will occur during the summer. Be on the lookout for additional information coming from your respective college or DO IT team to inform you of the specific migration timing for you and your area.

A series of five Microsoft Teams training sessions will be provided and recorded for future reference. These Teams Reference Materials may also assist in the learning process.

Please note that having the Teams app installed on your computer is not a requirement to access the training sessions. If you do not have the Teams app, we recommend that you access the training session(s) via the “Continue on this browser” option after clicking on the link, which does not require a download step.
