Having trouble connecting with students you only see online? Looking for a way to reach students that thrive in an experiential learning environment? Want to satisfy your Flex obligation while getting some steps in? If you answered yes to any of these questions, come join Biology professors Steve Holzberg, Fran Keller, and Eric Wada as they guide you through two under-utilized outdoor learning resources on the Folsom campus: the Outdoor Lab and Garden and the Wetlands Interpretive Trail. We will explore these two living systems, and how they can be incorporated into your coursework, regardless of your course modality and discipline. Along the way, you might learn about plants, see some wildlife, and experience a sense of calm, or feelings of wonderment! Meet at the FLC Outdoor Lab and Garden, located at the bottom of the grass lawn between the Falcon's Roost and the Gym building. Wear light clothing, comfortable shoes for walking off pavement, and appropriate sun protection. Bring water, curiosity and a sense of adventure!
Facilitated by Steve Holzberg, Fran Keller, and Eric Wada
Meets State Professional Guideline B: Staff development, in-service training, and instructional improvement.
